The device itself works as advertised. The controlling software application is poorly coded and has suspicious behavior - 1.) It constantly attempts to escalate its permissions on Android and if one decline to allow this it becomes erratic and freezes the screen. 2.) The only way to control the device is through an internet link that passes through a public server. If no internet connectivity is available the connected device can not be operated. I will be soldering extra pins to the device and loading my own firmware as with the standard firmware and application the risk (loss of functionality without internet and security risk) of using this device is too big.
