Not sure why it is labeled as stainless steel. It is not 316, 312, 304 or any type of stainless steel. It is however polished to a shine and perfectly straight and as far as i can tell definatly hardened type metal like bearing steel. It is fully magnetic like bearing steel should be. Exactly what i need and perfectly happy. Would buy again.
