Looped back with a PL2303 (also from bg, also probably not genuine) at a variety of baud rates up to 3000000 and they work reliably. Silk screen labels are a little odd (unusual abbreviations) but it appears to be a slight modification of the SparkFun design and presents full 9-wire RS323 signals. Slightly annoying that it has a _mini_ USB connector instead of a more common micro or full size, but it's documented and fine. Works great with the mainline Linux kernel drivers, YMMV with FTDI vendor drivers. Label on the FT232RL IC package itself appears printed not lasered, and it reports S/N A50285BI (common with fakes) so it's certainly not genuine, but at <$2/ea for working full-pin-out USB-Serial adapters, I'm not complaining.
