absolute garbage do not buy. airband does not work properly and sounds muffled and the radio went dead after 2.weeks

OK at first I though I had bought a POS , but with a bit of patience and practice ( the manual is a challenge ) this little rig is actually very usable . On my local 2m net everyone says the audio is clean and loud plus the data bleep from the GPS is amusing, received audio is also very good. Air band receive is OK not FM quality, the ATIS and Tower from my local airport are perfectly readable, FM commercial radio audio very good. GPS is very accurate, same readings as my Garmin GPS. Power output has not been checked but on low power I worked a station simplex 40 miles away both 599 so it must be putting a reasonable amount of RF. Would I recommend this rig, YES I would, but not for total novices. Performance and Quality very good for the price but dont expect Icom. G7CSM 73,s
