I have a nice Mercer multimeter that I've had since I was in college in the late 80's & a few free multimeters I got from Harbor Freight, but was looking for one that could measure capacitance & had a backlight. I'm pleasantly surprised at the quality of this meter. Accuracy: I just received the unit today, so I can't speak to the accuracy of the unit,but for my needs accuracy down to the 100th of a volt or +/1% resistance is not important. When working on the car it does not matter to me if it reads 12.1V vs 12.2V. I'm color blind, so I have a very difficult time reading resistor. I need to know if I have 100 ohm resistor or 1,000 ohm resistor, the difference between reading 100 ohm and possibly reading 104 ohm isn't important to me. Positive: I like the stand on the back, so that you can prop it up and easily see the display. The backlight is really handy. Unlike my Mercer, the viewing at an angle from the bottom is not a problem. However, you do not want to try to view the display from the top. The leads are better than I expected. A standard set of leads in included along with a set that can have the tips changed out depending on you application. Negative: I only have two minor complaints. When you change the dial you are put into automatic range mode. Pressing the range button allows you to manually select a range. However, I doesn't look like you can get back into auto range mode again without changing the dial. On my Mercer you can cycle through the manual ranges and back to auto. Also, I have been unable to find a way to zero out the resistance. I received meter in the US 3 weeks after I placed the order. Overall I'm very happy with the purchase.
