If you have never built an electronics kit before, then this is a great way to start. Easy to solder (start with the lower profile items first eg resistors and build up). I didn't realise that the clock was microprocessor controlled until I received it. Also, the power requirements are quite low and you can easily power it off batteries or a USB port. Unfortunately I did not see any instructions about how to operate the clock once built. So far I have learnt that the right hand button pressed once displays minutes and seconds. Pressing the right hand button again will return to normal display. Holding down the right hand button during minutes and seconds display will set the seconds to 0 (wait for two beeps) and stop the clock. Pressing the right hand button once more will start the clock again which is handy if you want to get the time exactly right. The left hand button held down during normal display will change the clock into setup mode (wait for the two beeps) and then the right hand button will change the hours cycling from 0 to 23. (You can hold down the right hand button to speed up the changes but note that upon release the number will change one more time.) Press left hand button again to change minutes with the right hand button. Press left hand again for chimes (beeps on the hour) turned on or off by the right hand button. Next (press the left hand button) is Alarm 1. If on, pressing the left hand button will allow changing of the hour and minutes respectively (using the right hand button). If off, pressing the left hand button will skip to the next function. The next function is Alarm 2, utilised in the same way as Alarm 1. Pressing the left hand button one final time returns the clock to normal display. The alarm, when active, can be cancelled by the left hand button.
