Worked well out of the package. Claims to operate at 5v-24v. I had it plugged into a 12v plug i used with a different controller on the exact same lights. In less than 2 weeks i found it no longer was functional, unit was extremely hot with some discolouration due to heat. Unplugged it and resumed using old controller, with no issues. Just no remote, which is why i purchased this unit. Dont waste your money. Possible fire hazard
