I received the updated version of the welder. Apparently no soldering necessary,. I found the wiring diagram on Aliexpress, see attached picture. The instructions for setting power level is to hold down the button for 1.5 seconds. The indicator light will glow green for low power, blue for medium, and red for high. I can't guarantee this info, as I've not tested it myself yet.
