Buyed one for installing custom firmware to open a garage door. Had to reverse eng. to find pinouts since there's no schematics. Found : GPIO4/19 = Relay (node MCU arduino pin name : D2) GPIO5/20 = input (node MCU arduino pin name : D1) 2 leds seems to be connected, one on output (activated a the same time of relay) and one on optocoupled input. I did not played with the input, but it seems it have to be powered with a 5V to activate. 2 connectors (2 pins, and 3 pins) have to be soldered to flash device. 3 pins needs to be connected to usb serial adapter (3.3V !!!). The 2 pin have to be shorted before switching on to make the device go on programming mode. Pgrogramming can be done on arduino environnement using NodeMCU ESP12E profile. Works, but a schematic would be appreciated to makers :) It's a bit expensive compared to SOnoff device.

  • wombat_991 Thanks for the info. Have you tried to program it with Arduino OTA software? I've run that on some other ESP8266 boards, and it works great (drop me a line if you have problems), but I have not tried it on a board that requires the GPIO pins to be shorted to flash (I have some ESP-01's that are that way, but they only have 512K of flash, so I cannot run OTA software on them). I'm curious to know if OTA works on this module.
