This recorder gets very hot to the touch when power supply is connected even when not running. I would say this is where this unit's electronics will fail and in no time at all. Only time will tell but I don't think it will last very long before the heat causes the soldered joints to dry out and fail inside the unit. The Menu seems to display when it feels like it and the buttons sometimes have to be pressed several times before recording starts. So in general it's a temperamental unit and thus cheap. Personally if you can afford to I would buy something of a better quality......
