Pro: - The hardware is very good, fast, resolution is 256*192 as stated, geometric distorsion is moderate. - Macro lens is exceptionally strong, gives 0.1 mm resolution in the right distance, which is amazing. - Works with the Type-C extension cable, which allows to place IR camera next to the visual camera of the phone, and - image can be rotated to match the real orientation. Nice! - Starts fast and reliably (not like competitors) - Seems accurate most of the time. (Not always.) Con: - Macro lens is often too strong; the observable area is too small (about 26*20 mm), and the depth of focus is too shallow. A second one with 100 mm focal length would be nice. - Red temperature reading on red surface is invisible, this way the standard and most useful rainbow color scheme becomes unuseful in this product. - App freezes when I switch to radiometric mode. - Some functions in the application doesn't work, or malfunction! The palette scale range is always automatic, which makes comparison between different measurements impossible(!). This way this is not an instrument, just a fancy toy. - Setting the temperature ranges manually is effective impossible. Auto scale simply overrides it. - Even worse that secondary analysis in the app gives absolutely faulty readings. For example 29.6 C for the tip of a working soldering iron. Before editing it showed 326 C maximal temperature. - Uploading the pictures taken by the app generates error in banggood site. To sum up: although the hardware is excellent, without the ability to compare images together this product is almost unusabler for me. Comparative measurement was the main reason I bought it. I expect a fully functional application.
