I'm pleased with this counter. I tested it over a box containing rock samples from Congo and there is defitinely something radioactive in it (around 10µS/h instead of the background of +/- 0,19 at my place ).

Overall nice little handheld Geiger counter. Pros: menu driven display. Cons:1. audio level volume of 'ticker ' is not very loud and cannot be adjusted - ok for inhouse use, but not in an outside environment. 2. every time the unit is turned on the LCD backlight by default is ON (irregardless of whether it was ON or OFF before the unit was switched off) - this is annoying,since you always have to remember to switch the backlight OFF if you're using it outside in the daylight to save battery power. 3. the LED light is very small and hard to see in the daylight and there is no option to turn it off. 4. the builtin Lithium battery is only 1200mah and only lasts about a day of full use.
