A pretty standard Espressif ESP32 platform, easily programmed with the Arduino SDK and the ESP32 Test Board. The pinout is tight, favouring being installed on a PCB rather than wiring anything directly to it. The contacts are coated , though, so it is super easy to solder the PCB to a properly designed carrier board. For hobby projects, the ESP32 module is plain awesome. For commercial evaluation of the ESP32 platform, this module and the development module are a good choice, though you should plan for sourcing the module early on. The module is robust, the solderpads are firmly anchored in the board so they wont come off just from soldering the device together, even after repeated soldering. The antenna is a typical chip antenna, enabling connections inside an appartment. For longer distances, the included µFL socket allows connection of high performance antennas. This device clearly deserves my recommendation both for the private hobbyist or the developer wanting to test the capabilities of the ESP32 platform.

  • Franzgood Is It possible to DISABLE the Wi-Fi feature by software and ENABLE wired data only ? If yes : how many INPUT pins are ABLE to ? My question is due to an amount of circa 50 units and I don't think would be good to have all those frequencies at home. ALSO this seems to be the smallest pcb dev board under 20mm x 20mm size. Thanks.
