Despite the fact this P-38 kit is not easy to assemble the results were rewarding. Carl had to use his significant experience of aero-modelling to assemble this kit because the instructions were not very helpful. He also had to make several minor modifications. These included adding a carbon spar to the horizontal stabiliser, adding lead weight to the back of the fuselage so the centre of gravity (CG) was correct and retrofitting some plastic to the bottom of each side of the fuselage to prevent the propellers getting damaged on landing. We opted not to fit the landing gear as it looked weak and would not have looked good in the air. He also found some of the hinges were not glued in correctly so worth double checking those and gluing in anything that requires it. Great model. Easy assembly. Light weight and has plenty of power. I fitted 2 larger fixed wheels and made it into a tail dragger for landing on a somewhat rough grass strip.

came badly beat up dinted,warped,etc .had to heat some parts up to get them back into shape.i put the gear on mine but don't expect it to last more than one flite,so it will probably end up a belly lander. build is a nightmare, make sure you have at least a few gws builds under your belt ,dont glue anything until you have to,or you'll find yourself un gluing . it looks pretty good when finished,hopefully flys ok with suggested 80mm cg. 3s 2200. I see others on utube fly this it looks like a good flyer if you can build it.
