First impressions this isn't going to be upto much how wrong I was this little iron is really good but I'd say order the other tips as the one that comes with it is fine good for smd I suppose but my needs are threw hole it has optional software update just connect a mini USB get the file drag it to iron done but you don't need to do that as sleep mode just pick upto wake if you need a portable iron then you won't go wrong with this the power pack isn't included but a 24v 3 amp power adaptor does fine if you get a adjustable power pack I think you can run down to 11 v obviously not as power full but works
