App requires pointless registration and demands localization data for access of basic functions, no privacy mode ... smart appliances for localized functions should never insist on internet and sharing private data (even if its just for installation), such tools need to work offline/in isloated intranets (and limit internet requirements to special internet features). Cannot recommend a simple Smart Plug which doesnt understand basic privacy.

BG552154173 The Cloud is the norm for almost ANY plug like this since the usual guy next door doesn't self host or even know what "Intranet" means.

This includes brand products from for example Honeywell, Netatmo, Tado, EVE ...

You can flash this with Tasmota Open-Source Firmware since its based on ESP8266. This is something you cant do on the big brands.
