I've only used this once so far, and really like it. It cuts super fast! I hope it continues to. The instructions are in Chinese only, like all Xiaomi products. The blade guards snap in, and there's a slider on the back. The guards have numbers on them, so the lowest visible one is where it's at. Then the knob on the front is for the blade. So if the guard is at 5mm, and the blade is at 1.1, that's a total of 6.1mm. But without the guard, it would be just 1.1mm. I have a similar Panasonic model, and the guards clog up with hair every 5 seconds. This doesn't. You can just turn it over and shake it a little and it falls out.
