Q: Can I use this to measure temperature in my water heater (geyser)?

Asked by BG101517378 on 2022-05-12 12:45:42

erosffoeg The probes look to be water proof but I would not trust continuous immersion. Suggest you find a place that you can make probe external contact with the geyser tank skin directly.

erosffoeg Hi, Sorry I cannot help as mine has not arrived yet. However I intend to uses it as a CNC router and will make a clamp or fixing to fit it whatever size it is. Do not thaink it will be difficult as the body looks to be aluminium ( I hope !! ) therefore plenty of places to fit clamp etc. Maybe use the fixing points that were for the base plate ?

Q: any way to calibrate with external resistor?

Asked by Camwads on 2021-05-27 07:38:38

erosffoeg It uses an NTC resistor as the sensor like most other cheap meters. The NTC is very non-linear and so the NTC resistance is measured and then the non linearity is compensated for. Adding a series resistor will increase the displayed temp - and a parallel will decrease it. So yes you can calibrate that way - problem is though that the internal compensation will not now be correct and so high accuracy will only be a the calibrated temp. The error across a range of temps will be related to the amount of correction made at the calibration temp. NTC range is from several K down to low 100s.

erosffoeg Sorry cannot help - you need to identify precisely which type of bulb is fitted as standard and then compare.

Q: is there current limiting? if so how do adjust it?

Asked by BG575344934 on 2020-09-30 14:12:46

erosffoeg No there is no adjustable current limit. Maybe it has over current limit but not tested. Voltage setting only.
