Q: Are you sure we have to connect it to a TX? An Rx must be connected to an Rx on the FC

BG223022415 yes, it gets soldered to the tx on of an available UART. It is designed this way to allow telemetry to function correctly. you also need to set you rx as SRXL in betaflight or it won't work. if the unit fails to bind, it might be bad. make sure you have it connected to +5v, NOT 3.3v!
