The rom is fake. They've modified the bootloader to "tissot". I managed to revert it to the original Chinese/English rom using this guide: http://en.miui.com/thread-1505451-1-1.html. I won't take any responsibility, do it at your own risk. Once the original rom is working, the phone works smooth.

However.. came with an 'illegal global' version of the miui firmware. Needed to put some effort in to get the official Xiaomi firmware in place Besides that, the phone is really nice!

Q: Hello. Can I install back the original ROM for China that comes in English and Chinese only so I can get the updates by OTA?
