When I ordered this screen it was shipped without any protection from the other items, which I know from experience that LCD screens do not like it when 0.5kg of pcb board is resting on them. The screen appears intact(not tested yet) but I'd like to think that on future orders this would be avoided. I do believe the driver is supported by the Arduino IDE, supplied by Adafruit in their screen library which you will need to download if you don't have it already installed. I'd say this screen is for quite a small niche use case and would recommend the larger screens for most projects with the more widely used drivers.

Q: does this board come with pre-installed bootloader?

BG611415111 Yes, but it is an older one. when you connect it to the arduino IDE you have to open the board manager and select the older bootloader from the list otherwise you can't upload to it.

The first thing I should mention is that if you are considering buying this board and using the Arduino IDE, you will need to enable the old boot-loader in the settings before uploading or the board will appear bricked( meaning it won't work). Once you have done this the board will function normally like any other. You should also note that this board does not use usb-c or micro usb, but a Mini usb which you will need to buy the cable for it if you don't already have one and don't want to upload to the board using the header pins. This is the un-soldered version but it still comes with all the header pins. Quality and appearance are as expected, all the boards I ordered came in separate metallic film anti-static bags which is nice.

The action of the joystick is smooth and returns to center with ease, nice solid construction. But the one thing letting it down is the button action which feels quite vague and weak even when centered.

Comes with all the headers pictured, very cheap for what the board is capable of.

The encoder's cogging is nice and strong, the switch action feels quite responsive. Good quality for the price.

Pretty much as described with 40 pieces (10 of each size) although the pcb's I received were different colours if that matters at all.
