Q: hi CAn the 110v model be used also on a 220v socket ?

Asked by gpao on 2020-11-10 10:16:22

Oscar You will need to change the heating elements, the 110v version comes with Iron 40 Ohms and Heatgun 20 Ohms, while the 220v version comes with Iron 135 Ohms and Heatgun 80 Ohms, the rest of the unit is the same. If you plug a 220v on 110v the soldering iron will not work and the heatgun will take like a extra 10secs to get hot, and if you plug a 110v verion on 220v the heating elements my overheat and break.

Oscar@BaluBalu Because it isn't bad, anyone that knows about microscopes, knows this kind of camera can't give you 500x magnification, it's pretty good for the price.

You will be shocked owning this, as I was, to discover this is definitely not a 500X microscope it claims to be, but is actually a disappointingly low 32 power, measured on my 23” monitor. The power varies only a tiny bit from that number either up or down depending upon the size of the monitor you own. The advertiser has taken fanciful liberties representing it otherwise. I looked today at the Andonstar website and they are careful not to make any claims regarding the power at all. None. No spec of any kind. It‘s actually a fixed power that cannot be adjusted. If you take a still image and have software of your own (none is provided), it goes without saying, you may digitally zoom in on a portion of the image, which likely gave rise to the false promise this microscope has higher “power”. Unfortunately that comes at quite a price. The included software doesn’t provide that capability. You must provide it yourself. This only takes a screen image in bmp format which is lossy and what you will get by attempting to increase its power up to full magnification is a blurry mess. The lower the zoom you select the better the results will be. Drop back to 32 power and your image is excellent again. Highest zoom only comes at the cost of an enormous loss of resolution and larger, distracting pixel sizes. If you are planning to take movies, digitally zooming won’t help at all, since it must be on every frame. So for movies don’t plan on anything but the low power this microscope actually provides. On the positive side, this is an economical good choice for low power work. The assembly was very easy and fast. The software only needs to be copied, not installed and images came on after just moments of setup time. The user manual has been translated into English with quite a lot of mistakes. Overall , if you don’t need the power that was promised this might be a good choice.

Q: Does it come with a second heat coil for the air blower?

Asked by BG493746164 on 2020-09-10 12:43:25

Oscar No and since it cools it self down automatically you really will not need a replacement heat element, my previous heat gun is 8 years old still using the original heat element, but I took care cooling it down every single time before turning it off, and this unit does that for you.

Q: disculpa cuantos dígitos tiene Lafuente.

Asked by inmer on 2018-05-18 08:52:23

Oscar English : it's a true 5 digits A meter, but it works in steps, only 3 digits work at the same time, example above 500mA it shows like this 1.58XXA, below 500mA it shows like this X.158XA and below (i think) 20mA it shows X.X158A, so it's a true 5 digits but under different loads. For the price I have 0 complains, similar priced units in Mexico can only measure 1.58A ans have no build in "smart" protections.

Oscar The CD usually is just a free version of generic microscope software, you don't even need it on most modern PCs since you can launch the Camera app on Windows 10 and it will show the image of the microscope, but you can contact BG Support and they will likely ship you a new CD or a link to the software.

Oscar It comes with the wall mount, but no spare tips for the iron, it comes with a single conical 2mm tip, but it uses the most commonly available tips in the market, the 900M series tips, there are like 50 different shapes to choose.

Q: Anyone tried it with other C-mount lens? As a normal camera?

Asked by chrbau on 2020-09-02 06:44:05

Oscar There is a YouTube video of someone trying camera lens on a similar microphone camera, the results are not ideal, but some lens give interesting results. I don't remember the channel or video title.
