Speedyreedy Lateanswer - but hopefully helps others. There's a setting in betaflight for arming angle. This needs to be set to 180 degrees or else the quad won't arm when it's upside down.

Speedyreedy Serial number is in the menu. Go to settings, then under the firmware it lists hardware version and serial#.
