Superb image quality - rivals almost a night vision device. I use the camera for covert surveillance. One downside is that it gets a little warm, maybe it's the additional *7456 OSD chip. If this is an issue, maybe I'll mod my camera. Here are images captured using a telephoto lens at night with only dim street lights. The OSD was misplaced at the center during testing. You can place it anywhere on the screen and add any text of your choice. The first 3 images were captured with a cheap 640x480 USB video class capture device that internally uses MJPEG compression, saved as BMP and recompressed again as JPG, so there is a quality loss. For comparison, I also captured video using a D1 DVR that captures at full D1 resolution (704x576) applies H264 compression, and the screenshot was saved directly to PNG format - it is the last 2 images where a timestamp is visible. The D1 DVR comes close in quality to an old DV format VCR. As far as analog SD (PAL/NTSC) cameras go, this is a top quality camera.. Bonus: The camera has a similar effect to old image-orthicon tube cameras - check out the halo that surrounds transitions of dark-light objects The next best thing would be an AHD/TVI/HDMI camera with this night-vision technology!

Q: Horizontal Resolution is 800tvl what are the vertical lines ?. 600tvl?.

tustudent People really do not know what they are talking about... The vertical resolution is FIXED according to analog TV standards, while the horizontal resolution is CAPPED by the signal bandwidth (and in case of signal sources with pixels, like CCD/CMOS cameras by the horizontal amount of pixels). For NTSC (EIA) this is: 483 visible lines, for PAL (CCIR) this is: 576 visible lines. Most equipment will capture NTSC with 480 lines, making it compatible with "640x480" VGA.

Great and affordable 4:3 googles with soft foam. Only minus is that OSD cannot be completely disabled, but maybe can with some hack ;) I use the goggles for a home-made NV device.

Image: The image is a 16:9 anamorphic image, which means it is squashed on a 4:3 monitor, but displays correct on the common cheap 16:9 video screens and FPV receivers. Image quality: Average, but very good for a miniature module like this. Power: The camera module beneath the heatshrink has a LDO voltage regulator that probably regulates voltage down to 3.3V, which means you can feed it with 5V to avoid losses and heat. Chipset: It is based on a HDI 8901H chipset that is also capable of AHD and has an internal OSD and setup menu, which aren't used on this module. Verdict: I can recommend this camera for covert surveillance or as an easy to install (only drill a hole) and discreet door camera.

It does not record analog SD footage as 4:3 video (VGA/D1), but zooms a 4:3 frame to fit with cropping inside a 1280x720 frame, which is really senseless as it only degrades quality. You can't record information that wasn't there (525/625 analog video scanlines vs 720 digital lines) It is only a cheap solution to record your FPV flights, show them on Youtube - but only if you don't care about video quality or standards.

It works, can't tell about long-term battery life. After a few difficulties getting it set up, it works really good. You can use this perfectly to watch movies at work discreetly ;))

I use this for a CCTV installation. The transmit power and video quality are flawless and it is a very good deal. It gets hot while transmitting, so in a stationary installation (not air cooled on a drone) a heatsink is maybe a good idea. The LED segments are unevenly lit (see 8 vs 1) due to the fact, that Chinese engineer's don't understand, they should use a resistor for each segment - but that's only cosmetical ;) The main function of the VTX03 is perfect! I am ordering more

Video quality is not as good as UTV007 (can only do 640x480, does some processing) and of course not as good as good old DV. - but it is really useful, as it works driverless. In VLC you must enter manually "640x480". I didn't yet test if any cropping is going on. But if not, for a PAL source (576 visible lines), certainly it has to scale it down (480 lines). Lag is similar to a webcam, as it is indeed based on a webcam chipset by ArkMicro. I use it for video surveillance (CCTV), not for FPV, so lag is not an issue. The really good thing is: It saves the last channel! I am now ordering another one.

Useful for fitness locker, but overall low security lock. You can find multi-packs of locks with better quality and price per lock locally

This lock fits RENZ standard mailboxes, but the rotating metal tongue has to be bent to fit, which is hard due to it's quality steel. Or you re-use the old from your original lock. This lock is a cheap replacement if you lost keys. Very good value for the money!

The lock is much small than it seems, it's just 25mm, I didn't know it's THAT small. Probably only useful for locking your diary.
