This bright light needs to attach it to a suitable heatsink and requires good ventilation to remove excess heat. The heatsink appears to be live so electrical insulation between the heatsink and the unit is probably necessary for safe operation. The reflector and plastic dome cover is a bonus.

After a small amount of head scratching, I was able to connect my APM 2.5 to APM Planner 2. Must set the baud rate to the right setting, for me it was 57600 then after that everything fell into place. Have not done a test flight with it yet, but should be fine.
