Pinigis I had the same problem and had to purchase a Scosche interface in order to cut the gain and get to a useful volume. It was easy to install, and less than $20

nastymartincooper it depends on if your steering wheel has controls already, if it has volume controls or phone controls it should work, you can buy switches that attach to you steering wheel that will work too

Pinigis it is definitely not 500 lumens, but it is bright enough to be very useful.
