Teunstah The arrows at least suggest one direction, as you'd expect looking at the product it's copied from. It's a major safety feature, and tbh. I'd be disappointed if they don't use one-way bearings... (And if so I'll buy and fit one-way bearing myself) However the images show arrows pointing in opposing directions, but that can also just be the photographer not knowing what he's shooting :) Will update you when I receive the item.

Teunstah Compression; you can tell by the 'windings' running in opposite directions.

Q: can you set to angles between the stops? how do you do that?

Teunstah There are two knobs; the small black one - this locks the fixed angles parts. And there is the large handle that can be turned, this locks the full plate. So, to set an angle between the stops; untighten the black knob, move the gauge in whatever angle you want, then lock down the handle tightly, as the handle will be the only mechanism now locking the fence, but should be tight enough imho.

Teunstah No,they are more like (strong) reading glasses, so need little more distance Think around 25-50 cm.
