But it seems simple enough. Looks as though you wind the wire round the dowel to form a "tunnel". But it looks as though I'll have to glue the magnets onto the dowel - I guess with the magnetic poles facing the same way. No glue is supplied. I think the supplied dowel, while OK for winding the wire, will be too long as a "train" and may have to be sawed in half for good use. I haven't tried this yet because it looks as though it will be fussy to make.

Jay R Themagnets go on the end of the battery. The dowel is only there to make the shape for the wire. It's the battery with magnets on each end that travels through the wire tunnel.

miklos_klauz Justwanted to remark here that the dowel's single function is to assist in the forming of the "tunnel". The magnets should be attached to both ends of the battery.
