Jay R Themagnets go on the end of the battery. The dowel is only there to make the shape for the wire. It's the battery with magnets on each end that travels through the wire tunnel.

But it seems simple enough. Looks as though you wind the wire round the dowel to form a "tunnel". But it looks as though I'll have to glue the magnets onto the dowel - I guess with the magnetic poles facing the same way. No glue is supplied. I think the supplied dowel, while OK for winding the wire, will be too long as a "train" and may have to be sawed in half for good use. I haven't tried this yet because it looks as though it will be fussy to make.

I got this as an upgrade to a brushed 550 in an FTX Bugsta. Works great and much faster than the brushed motor. If you want to use the brake function, you'll have to get the device to program it for a few extra pounds as it comes set quite strong. I hit the brakes from full speed and the car did 2 forward flips and slid down the street on it's roof.. If you don't know what the brake is, you go from forward straight to reverse on the control and instead of reversing it brakes the motor. You have to move the control to reverse twice before it starts to go backwards. The cooling fan on the speed control is quite loud. I though the motor itself was turning at first.

Jay R Sounds like it works fine. Let's see, you got it with 3 lights showing yes? That means it could have as little as 51% charge. Seeing as how (depending on your charger) it could,take up to 20 hours to fill from flat and that the last 50% takes longer due to it slowing the charge rate towards the end, 10 hours from 51% to 100% sound quite possible.

I had purchased the previous model of this item and it had lasted me a year before the charge times had become longer per full charge. This model, in particular, was 75% charged when I received it in the mail. After several hours, the item was not completely charged and still had 3 out of 4 stars charged. So I left it for another few hours and it finally became fully charged. This would, in turn, make me believe this item is already defective. However, as it took me essentially a month to receive the item, I will accept it as it is. It's a reminder to me that i get what I pay for. If I had paid full price for this item, I would most certainly lodge a complaint. Nevertheless, apart from its defects, I would rate this item barely higher than 2.5/5 stars overall.

Jay R Will it still work though ? Even without the App, if you plug it in, does it start recording onto the card ?It says voice control, can you use this to start it recording ?

To activate app, you have to get chinesee sim card with active internet. In Poland or other countries this dvr is useless... :-(
